Max and Paddy aren’t messing around when they bring “Ass Kicker” to the local Robot Wars tournament… The Robot Wars Tournament was an event at the Phoenix Club hosted by Ray Von and one of two events taking place that night, the other been the ‘Funny Farm’ alternative comedy night. Series 1, Episode 5 (Robot Wars) – Jerry decides to host an alternative comedy night, but it turns out to be a disaster, with none of the entrants being good at all. Elsewhere, Ray Von hosts a Robot Wars tournament, which is won by Max and Paddy using a robot built by Ray, who has a penchant for electrics. Brian Potter’s dream is to own a popular club. But with two failed clubs to his name – The Aquarius and The Neptune both burned down – he’s hoping the third time will be the charm. The Phoenix Club is his new baby, and he is determined to make it the most popular establishment in Bolton.
